Elegy by Amanda Hocking final book in the Watersong series

An epic battle is about to begin…

Gemma’s life is slowly being destroyed. Cursed as a siren, she is struggling to escape a destiny of savagery and darkness. She’s desperate to break the spell that has turned her into a monster and torn her away from the family – and boy – that she loves. But the alluring yr lethal sirens, Penn, Thea and the newly initiated Liv, have no intention of letting her go.

The key to her freedom lies in an ancient scroll. Gemma’s quest leads her to someone who might be able to help – the mysterious and immortal Diana, who cursed Penn and her sisters thousands of years ago. But Diana will not give up her secrets easily, and unless Gemma and her sister Harper can unlock the scroll’s powers then Penn will destroy the two sisters – and everyone they care about – for good.

The final book means the final showdown.

Penn still has her sights set on Daniel and she tells him that if he sleeps with her, she’ll spare Harper and Gemma’s life. And he agrees, even though he knows it’ll break Harper’s heart. But if it keeps her safe…

Then there’s Gemma and Harper who are both trying to find a way to destroy the scroll but they haven’t found anything yet and time is running out. Especially now that Penn has made a new siren named Liv, whose basically eating every male on the island.

Alex is slowly getting his feelings for Gemma back and after an epic make out session he practically has them all back šŸ˜‰

But everyone knows that this could be the end for all of them and when they find Diana, the woman who originally put the curse on the sirens they go and see her. But she is not offering any help. She wants revenge for what they did to her daughter all those years ago and she’s not going to give up any time soon.

Disheartened Gemma and everyone decide to have one more showdown with the sirens, because if they can kill Penn then the curse is broken right? Seeing as it all centres around her…

But is that what’s on the scroll? And if they do kill Penn then what happens? Will their lives ever be the same again?

Damn… This one was epic. Full of fighting and nail biting moments this made up for the first two books that were just a little bit slow.

Everything came out in the last book regarding the secrets of Penn and Thea and the other two original sirens but this one was just as full as revelations as the last one.

The new siren Liv was crazy. Worse than Lexi. She was annoying and god damn it so childish. I hated her so much!

Everyone has something to fight for and live for and it’s either the sirens or Gemma and the others who get to live.

I’m glad Thea managed to chose a side in this one. She wasn’t actually as bad as the others and I was hoping they’d manage to find a way for her. But they didn’t.

The only thing that was just a little predictable about it was how to break the curse. I managed to get it before they did in the book hit other than that I really enjoyed it.

Overall it was a great series and I enjoyed reading it. I liked reading about something different than what’s usually written.
