Blurb:

Once upon a time, a girl had a father, a prince, a society of friends.

Then they betrayed her, and she destroyed them all…

Adelina Amouteru’s heart has suffered at the hands of both family and friends, turning her down the bitter path of revenge. Now known and feared as the White Wolf, she flees Kenettra with her sister to find other Young Elites in the hopes of building her own army of allies. Her goal: to strike down the Inquisition Axis, the white-cloaked soldiers who nearly killed her.

But Adelina is no heroine. Her powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, Raffaele and the Dagger Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Adelina struggles to cling to the good within her. But how can someone be good when her very existence depends on darkness?

OH.MY.GOD!!

AAAAHHHHH!!

Anyway….

The Rose Society starts with Adelina and her sister hunting for more Young Elites. Its been a while since she fled from Kenettra and now her sister, Violetta and herself are on the run.

They are being hunted.

She’s wanted by the Dagger Society for killing their Prince Enzo and she’s racked by nightmares and visions of a fake reality.

When she finds Magiano, another Young Elite, she finds it hard to trust him but with his power and his seem less devotion to her, he makes a brilliant ally and finds her ways to stay hidden, to get out of danger and back into Kenettra with her own army and another Young Elite they meet along the way.

But the Dagger Society has their own agenda. With the help of Maeve, the Queen who can bring back the dead, they want to raise Enzo again and tie him to Raffaele but when Adelina hears about it… Its a race against time to have Enzo tied to her…

But he won’t be the same.

Can Adelina control Enzo’s new power and bring down the Inquisition Axis? Or will she have to turn to her enemy for help?

Its not often I re read books but this one I did. As soon as I put the book down I started again from the beginning because I couldn’t believe how amazing it was.

This had all the same gripping and powerful stuff that it did in the first book. I was hooked from the beginning, not able to put the book down for a second, despite the fact it was a busy week at work, I managed to read it in two days.

Then another two days after I re read it haha.

Adelina is troubled and I feel for her. No one really understands her. She has so much darkness inside of her because of her past its hard for her to trust and to love, even though she has a lot of love inside her. She cares for Violetta so much and she still loves Enzo. Even though he does turn his back on her once he’s resurrected.

If everything I want Adelina with Magiano. Magiano is there for her all the time, there when the nightmares and her visions take over her and she can’t tell truth from reality. Even if he is a little scared of her, he idolises her and loves her. More than I think Enzo did to be honest.

And the ending of the book! Omg why why why why!?!?

It was so powerful that I had to re read those chapters once I finished it for the first time. The book was powerful it was so hard to put down and Marie Lu’s words easily transport you there. She makes you feel like you are actually standing next to Adelina or helping Magiano escape or fighting alongside Enzo and the Daggers. After finishing the book is it hard to determine truth from reality because of how invested you become.

I want these as movies.

I loved Marie Lu’s Legend Trilogy but I think I love these one’s even more! Marie Lu is fast becoming one of my favourite authors, especially with the way she writes and the way she easily sucks you into the books with her characters and her worlds.

5 out of 5 stars.

You gotta read these books and I need the third!!
