Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end. No more puzzles. And no more running. Thomas was sure that escaping meant he would get his life back. But no one knew what sort of life they were going back to…
Burned and baked, the earth is a wasteland, it’s people driven mad by an infection known as the Flare.
Instead of freedom, Thomas must face another trial. He must cross the Scorch to once again save himself and his friends…
Ummm… WOW! This. Book.
This book starts off right where the Maze Runner ended. They are safe… or so they think.
They finally are told that this is also a trial and that they all have the Flare and they have to go through wasteland and a burning sun to get to the safe haven which has the cure.
But they’ve taken Teresa and in her place is Aris a boy, that they soon find out, is from another maze.
After that its a race against time and along the way more people are killed. And then they come across the Cranks, Jorge and Brenda and Thomas manages to convince them to help them get to the safe haven and in return they’ll get the cure too.
Agreeing they face many things along the way; the ones who are too far gone with the Flare, guns, people who drug them…
And then there’s the ultimate betrayal by Teresa which kills all feelings Thomas has for her.
But is everything as it seems? And who can you trust?
This book… just when I thought I’d got over the Maze Runner this one comes along and *BOOM* the plot twists and the cliffhanger endings… OH MY GOD!
Seriously… if James Dashner is trying to kill me with all this cliffhanger stuffs then he’s doing a great job!
And the betrayal… oh my god!
I really love Thomas. He’s become this unknown hero and he’s liked by most of the characters and you can’t help but hurt when he does and I can understand his feelings regarding Teresa. Ad well… I’m shipping him and Brenda pretty hard! Haha.
I can’t wait for the Maze Runner to be released and I hope they do the Scorch Trials too because these books are amazing! And the tagline that reads: …A MUST FOR FANS OF THE HUNGER GAMES. Is totally right. Its hooking and gripping and unpredictable.
GO READ IT!
