Crush of the Week

Crush of the Week

I know I know… It’s on a tuesday again!
I don’t know what’s happening to me haha

Anyway this week’s crush goes to….

Tom Hopper was born 28 January 1985 in Coalville, Leicestershire and he is an English actor who has appeared in several television programmes and films

Tom studied his acting at the Rose Bruford College  in which he graduated with an honours degree in 2006.

His theatre roles while at the college included, The Tempest, The Way of the World, Colliers Friday Night and Festen. Since he graduated, he gained roles for which he was nominated for the Michael Powell Award for Best New British Feature and Initiation in 2007.

Tom was cast in As You Like It at the Watford Palace Theatre and has appeared in numerous television programmes and films such as Saxon, Casualty, Kingdom and Doctors. Tom portrayed Marcus in a comedy-horror film, Tormented, which also starred Alex Pettyfer and the movie is about a bullied teenager who comes back from the dead to take revenge on his classmates. The film was made by BBC Films, Slingshot & Forward Films and was released internationally by Pathe, on 22 May 2009 in the UK.

Tom played the enigmatic and brave Sir Percival in the BBC series Merlin. On 3 June 2012, he appeared as himself on the game show Deal or No Deal, opening a box for a celebrity special involving his friends, pop band McFly. He stars in the feature film “Cold” alongside Merlin co-star Eoin Macken. Cold was filmed in Ireland in 2012 and due to be released at festivals in 2013. Tom has recently become the first actor to join new Starz series Black Sails. The pirate drama is based as a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island.

Tom has, with good humour and intent, provided his well known body image to charity causes supporting awareness of colon cancer screenings and treatment, as well as other cancers that are male specific such as testicular and penile cancer. At the same time he affirms his heterosexuality (he’s taken girls! Sorry!) but embraces his gay friends and fan base.

So why is he Crush of the Week?

Apart from being super tall (6’5″) and mega handsome, Tom is down to earth, friendly, kind and so lovable. His portrayal of Sir Percival was the best and I honestly cannot imagine anyone else playing the role. He took Sir Percival to a whole new level and his on screen/off screen bromance with fellow Merlin star (And former Crush of the Week) Eoin Macken was hilarious. Even though Tom has proven that he can play multiple roles he seems to have the body shape and height to play in medieval TV shows and films and the pirate one… WOW I cannot wait to see that!

And have you seen his arms!? I’m hoping I can find the video I want to share with you because when you see them you will know what I’m talking about haha

So yeah, Tom is without a doubt Handsome and I can remember years ago seeing him at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham with Alex Pettyfer and I was like… WOW who is this guy!? He seemed mega shy though when he was there which made him all the more endearing.

And I love him in Doctor Who as Jeff in Matt’s Smith’s first episode The Eleveth Hour. Okay so he didn’t say much but his presence alongside Matt was hilarious.

Tom is totally a worthy crush this week 🙂

Oh and girls… A little campaign photo for you 😉 (don’t go fainting on me now!)
