He was in the running before but came second and now its his time to shine… especially as now The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is out… so welcome this week’s Crush…
Born January 13th 1990 in Melbourne Australia. Born to his English teacher mother and social services councillor father, he’s the youngest of two brothers (Chris and Luke).
When Liam was in year 8 the family relocated to Philip Island and spent most of his time.surfing with his brothers. In 2009 he moved to the US with brother Chris to peruse his acting career. Before becoming an actor Liam laid floors for 6 months (god imagine him coming round to your house to lay floors…)
Liam had his first audition at 16 and in 2007 he started his career by having guest spots in Home and Away and McLeod’s Daughter.
He’s first starring role was in Neighbours as Josh Taylor who was an athletic paraplegic who supported and then eventually began a relationship with character Bridget Parker after she was paralysed down one side of her body.
In 2008 he starred in the children’s TV show The Elephant Princess as Marcus.
Liam did lose out to brother Chris as Thor.
In 2010 it was revealed that he was to play the lead in The Last Song, a movie based on the book by Nicholas Sparks, with Miley Cyrus as the lead female. Bearing in mind he’d been in LA for 3 weeks and had not yet found an agent when last for the role (he has one now… Obvs!)
4th April 2011 he was cast as the Lead, Gale Hawthorne, in The Hunger Games and then revised the role in 2013 in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Liam began a relationship with co star Miley Cyrus in June 2009. In June 2012 it was revealed they were engaged. It didn’t last however as in September 2013 the ended their 4 year relationship.
Liam is also the Ambassador for the Australian Childhood Foundation.

So why is he Crush of the Week?
One… are you blind? Have you seen the Australian hunk? Liam is gorgeous… like really really gorgeous. He’s tall (6ft 3), dark and so so so handsome. He has perfect kissable lips and have I mentioned he’s gorgeous?
He’s just… god! He’s beautiful. And his eyes… god those blue eyes… mmmmmm.
You could just look and stare at him for ages (just don’t do that id you actually get to meet him!) And he always gets along with his co stars which shows he’s down to earth and easy to get along with.
He’s a brilliant actor too and he’s exactly how I imagined Gale to be. I can’t wait to see him in Catching Fire (I haven’t seen it yet) and all the other roles he has coming up 🙂
