The Dark Heroine Dinner With a Vampire book review

I’ve literally just this second put this book down

And WOW! I loved every single moment of it 🙂

The sticker on the book says its “The Sexiest Romance You’ll Read This Year” and holy hell they were right!

Here’s the blurb:

One moment can change your life forever…

For Violet Lee, a chance encounter on a darkened street draws her into a world beyond her wildest imaginings, a timeless place of vast elegance and immeasurable wealth – of beautiful mansions and lavish parties – where a decadent group of friends live for pleasure alone. A place from which there is no escape..  no matter how hard Violet tries.

Yet all the riches in the world can’t mask the darkness that lies beneath the gilded surface, embodied in the charismatic but dangerous Kasper Varn.

Violet and Kasper surrender to a passion that transcends their separate worlds – but it’s a passion that comes at a price…

The blurb is what hooked me from the beginning. That and the cover. Usually I tend to flick through a book first or read the first few lines just to see what it’s about but this one I brought because of the blurb alone.

When I found out that the author is actually 18 years old I couldn’t believe it. Its written in the style of a successful and well established novelist… not an 18 year old.
She’s a perfect writer. The words flow, the dialogue flows, the descriptions of various parts of the mansion and of the characters themselves draw you in like you are actually there with them.

I loved the character of Violet. She is literally thrust into this world that she knows nothing about and I love that she is feisty and fierce (and a veggie like me!) And doesn’t stand for any of Kasper’s crap… even when he does have her pinned against the wall ready to sink his fangs into her against her will (oh he’s a vampire by the way!)
And Kasper himself… yeah he’s egotistical and rough and moody and can be so so cocky but by the Goddess he’s HOT!! (New book husband!) He does have a soft side though and Violet constantly strive to not give into their passion, despite Kasper constantly trying to woo her…
They do give into it (YAY) and they have a powerful sex scene (I’ve re-read it a few times! Haha)
But their passion comes at a price from Kasper’s father The King.

I like how right from the off Kasper is known as a Vampire. It sets the scene and the pace perfectly, thrusting you right into their world.

The book is full of fast paced action, swoon worthy passion and realistic fight scenes.

Abigail wrote this book on wattpad and gained a huge online following due to it and then voila it got published!
She’s become an inspiration to me after reading this. I want nothing more than to be an author and to know that Abigail did this on wattpad as an online book and got it published is amazing. I’m already thinking about joining the site and have joined a creative writing course just to help me on my way to becoming a successful author.

Abigail’s second book, Autumn Rose The Dark Heroine, is released next year and I can’t wait to delve into it.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves vampire books and I would definitely give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Its a literary genius of a book!
